Quality: culture of excellence

Quinta de Amares Vinicultura Lda, has integrated sustainable environmental management into all its white wine production, always adopting the priority of developing methods, processes and products with the least possible effect on the environment, and providing balanced management of natural resources.

We assume as part of the environmental management system, the quality guarantee and the security of our products, the development and implementation of continuous improvement programmes, always respecting legislative references, with a view to installing a culture of excellence in all human activities associated with the production and preparation of our wines Alvarinho, Alvarinho-Loureiro, Loureiro and Branco Escolha.

Environment: sustainable viticulture model

At Quinta de Amares Vinicultura Lda. we are dedicated to protecting the environment and installing an ecological balance in our vineyards and in the Vinho Verde Region. This is why we use a sustainable viticulture model that allows us to produce Vinho Verde directly from our vineyards in an ecologically responsible way.

The grapes used in QUINTA D'AMARES wines were produced in accordance with the integrated production for sustainable agriculture guidelines as defined by the International Organisation for Biological Control of Harmful Organisms (IOBC). The strict compliance with these practices is certified by an independent body (SATIVA-Controlo e Certificação de Produtos), recognised by the Portuguese government.

Responding to our constant concern for the environment, in 2005 Quinta de Amares Vinicultura Lda. joined the System of Collection and Treatment of Packaging (see Green Point), and in 2013 we built an ORGANIC Waste Water and Effluent Treatment Plant.

SATIVA Certification of Integrated Production

SATIVA, Desenvolvimento Rural Lda., control and certification authority for Integrated Production products, recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, certifies with this license that, as a result of analysing that the results of the control visit to the production unit belonging to QUINTA DE AMARES, VINICULTURA, LDA. located in the municipality of AMARES, comply with the specifications of Decree-Law Nº256/2009, Implementing Order Nº65/97 and Implementing Order Nº131/2005, and all conditions are met for the marketing of the products originating in the following crops, areas and varieties/types: VINEYARD, 50.00 ha.

Ponto Verde

This document confirms that the company QUINTA DE AMARES, VINICULTURA LDA., Tax nº 502594470, is found to comply with all its liabilities arising from Decree-Law number 366-A/97 of 20 December, with the amendments introduced by Decree-Law number 162/2000 of 27 July, Decree-Law number 92/2006 of 25 May, Decree-Law  number 178/2006  of 5 September, Decree-Law number 73/2011 de 17 de June, Decree-Law number 110/2013 of 2 August and Decree-Law number 48/2015 of 10 April regarding the management of waste from packaging, by joining the Integrated System for the Management of Waste from Packaging, as laid down in the contract identified under number EMB/0007862, signed with Sociedade Ponto Verde - Sociedade Gestora de Resíduos de Embalagens, S.A., and as provided in number 2 of article 5 of Decree-Law number 366-A/97 of 20 December and number 1 of article 7 of Implementing Order number 29-B/98, of 15 January, with the amendments introduced by Decree-Law number 158/2015 of 29 May.                               Cruz Quebrada, 29 de abril de 2016
